New Student Advising - Open Studies and Switching Programs (online)

Welcome to Mount Royal University!
This session is for new students admitted to Open Studies and those who are looking to switch their program at Mount Royal.
This session will be held online via Google meet, and you will need to use your @mtroyal.ca account in order to access the session. Prior to the session, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the online meeting.
In this session you will:
- Meet with an academic advisor in a virtual environment,
- Review the competitive average ranges for admission to Mount Royal programs and the pathways for presenting competitive averages,
- The presenter will show you how to register for your courses by sharing their screen and taking you through each step,
- Be able to ask questions about your academic plan for the fall and winter semesters, and
- Receive information and referrals to other MRU services as required,
What to do before the meeting:
- For Open Studies students: review the Online Advising Information that is available through the Program Advising Guide
- For students who want to switch programs, you should also check the Program Advising Guide of the Mount Royal program that you are interested in.
- Ensure you have access to a desktop computer or laptop and an internet connection.
- Ensure you can log on to mymru.ca,
- Activate your MRU email account (@mtroyal.ca) (see attachment for help to access this account)
- Please note you will receive a reminder email including the Google Meet link 24 hrs before your session
